Destiny Peery

Destiny Peery is a sixth year doctoral student in Social Psychology and a student in the JD/PhD program, working primarily with Drs. Bodenhausen and Richeson. She completed her BA in psychology at the University of Minnesota. Destiny conducts research examining (1) how individuals disambiguate and categorize multiracial or racially-ambiguous targets, with a focus on how various kinds of biological and social cues to race influence categorizations, and (2) how individuals, particularly of low status groups, respond to discrimination (e.g., Does depletion affect perceptions of and responses to discrimination? Do people recognize multiple forms of discrimination, particularly the form recognized by the law?).
